- 1 loaf of cinnamon-spiced French bread, cut into cubes
- 1 can of apple pie filling
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 1/2 cup of oats
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
- 1/4 cup of flour
- 1/4 cup of butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and sugar.
- Layer half of the bread cubes in the prepared baking dish.
- Spread the apple pie filling over the bread layer.
- Add the remaining bread cubes on top.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread.
- In another bowl, mix together oats, brown sugar, flour, and melted butter. Sprinkle over the top.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight or bake immediately for 30-35 minutes until golden and set.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For best results, use sturdy bread and allow the custard to soak overnight. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to three days.
