Start your morning with flaky, golden puff pastry bars filled with custardy eggs, melty cheese, and savory cooked meats. Perfect for busy weekdays or brunch gatherings.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
  • 1 cup cooked breakfast meat (sausage, turkey, or chicken)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon milk (optional)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into squares.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stir in the cheese and cooked meats.
  5. Place a spoonful of the egg mixture in the center of each puff pastry square.
  6. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling and seal.
  7. Place the filled pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Beat the remaining egg and brush it over the top of each pastry.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For best results, keep puff pastry cold until ready to shape. Avoid overfilling to ensure the pastry seals properly. Brush with egg wash for a shiny finish.
