- 2 cups quick-cooking oats
- 1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1-1/2 cups cold butter, cubed
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 jar (12 ounces) caramel ice cream topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan to prepare for the bars.
- In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
- Cut in the cold butter with a pastry cutter until the mixture is crumbly and resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press half of this mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the base layer.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips and chopped pecans evenly over the partially baked crust.
- Drizzle the caramel topping generously over the chocolate and nut layer, ensuring even coverage.
- Mix the remaining 1/4 cup of flour with the leftover crumb mixture, and sprinkle it on top.
- Bake for an additional 25–30 minutes, or until the top layer is golden brown.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars and serving. Enjoy!
