- 1 teaspoon baking powder

- 1 cup chocolate chips or festive mix-ins (e.g. cranberries, nuts)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until well combined.
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt; then gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips or festive mix-ins.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
For best results, press large nuts or candied fruit into the top before baking. To ensure even slices, chill briefly after cooling.
