- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt
- ⅛ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ⅛ teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Ensure your unsalted butter is softened to true room temperature.
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the softened butter with very finely minced fresh garlic, fresh parsley, fresh chives, and fresh thyme leaves.
- Incorporate the coarse Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Pour in the fresh lemon juice.
- Add the sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, adjusting to taste.
- Thoroughly mix all ingredients together until well combined, scraping down the sides of the bowl periodically.
- Transfer the mixed Cowboy Butter to parchment paper or plastic wrap, roll into a log shape, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Notes
For best results, start with evenly softened butter and finely mince garlic and herbs. Adjust seasoning to taste after chilling.
