Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package of crescent roll dough (store-bought)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
- Optional sweet filling such as Nutella or jam
- Egg wash: 1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water
- Sprinkles or decorative toppings (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
- Starting from the bottom, arrange the triangles on a baking sheet to form a Christmas tree shape (wide base, narrowing to the top).
- Place your chosen filling—about a teaspoon of cheese or a small dollop of Nutella/jam—between the layers of dough as you stack.
- Brush the assembled tree with egg wash for a glossy, golden finish.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving so layers hold together while pulling apart.
- Optional: Add sprinkles, herbs, or other decorative toppings for a festive touch. Enjoy!
Notes
Don’t overfill the layers to prevent leaks and ensure easy pulling. For extra crispness, bake on a preheated baking sheet or use parchment for easy cleanup.
