Ingredients

  • 500g beef strips
  • 1 cup cornflour
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 4-6 red chilies, sliced
  • Spring onions for garnish
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the beef strips with soy sauce and oyster sauce. Let them marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Coat each beef strip with cornflour after marinating.
  3. Heat oil in a pan until hot.
  4. Deep-fry the beef strips until golden brown and crispy, then drain on paper towels.
  5. In a separate pan, heat oil and stir-fry minced garlic, ginger, and sliced chilies until fragrant.
  6. Toss in the crispy beef and sprinkle with sugar, mixing until coated.
  7. Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve hot.

Notes

For extra crunch, double-coat the beef strips in cornflour. Serve with steamed jasmine rice or a fresh salad.
