- ⅓ cup (65g) granulated sugar
- 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast (1 packet)
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 ¼ cup (295ml) warm water
- 1 cup (236ml) warm whole milk
- 2 large eggs
- 6 tablespoons (85g) melted butter
- 1 cup (200g) brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon
- 8 tablespoons (113g) melted butter
- 8 ounces (226g) softened cream cheese
- 4 tablespoons (56g) softened butter
- 1 ⅓ cup (160g) powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups (340g) powdered sugar
- 1/3 – 1/2 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
Instructions
- Combine flour, sugar, yeast, salt, and baking powder and whisk to blend.
- Stir in warm water, warm milk, eggs, and melted butter until a soft dough forms.
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, roll out the dough, spread melted butter, sprinkle filling, then roll and slice into rolls.
- Let the shaped rolls rise until puffy, then bake until golden and set.
- Beat cream cheese, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth and spread on warm rolls.
- Whisk powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and a pinch of salt to a pourable consistency and drizzle over cooled or warm rolls.
Notes
Use warm liquids to protect the yeast. Chill the dough slightly if it feels sticky to slice more easily.
