- 1 package ready rolled puff pastry, thawed
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup dried cranberries, chopped
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 egg, beaten for egg wash
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly oil a mini muffin tin.
- Roll out the puff pastry and cut into rounds slightly larger than the muffin cups.
- Press each round into the muffin tin to form small pastry cups and brush the edges with beaten egg.
- Bake the pastry cups for 8 to 10 minutes until puffed and golden then remove and cool slightly.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté the onion until translucent.
- Add garlic and ground turkey and cook, breaking up the meat, until no longer pink.
- Stir in cumin, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and chopped dried cranberries and cook for two more minutes.
- Remove the skillet from heat and let the turkey mixture cool for five minutes.
- Fold the softened cream cheese into the cooled turkey mixture until well combined.
- Spoon the filling into the baked pastry cups and return to the oven for 5 minutes to warm through.
- Garnish each tartlet with chopped parsley and serve warm.
Notes
For best results, use cold puff pastry. You can prepare the turkey filling a day ahead and store it in the refrigerator.
