  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 12 tartlets 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package ready rolled puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries, chopped
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten for egg wash
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly oil a mini muffin tin.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry and cut into rounds slightly larger than the muffin cups.
  3. Press each round into the muffin tin to form small pastry cups and brush the edges with beaten egg.
  4. Bake the pastry cups for 8 to 10 minutes until puffed and golden then remove and cool slightly.
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté the onion until translucent.
  6. Add garlic and ground turkey and cook, breaking up the meat, until no longer pink.
  7. Stir in cumin, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and chopped dried cranberries and cook for two more minutes.
  8. Remove the skillet from heat and let the turkey mixture cool for five minutes.
  9. Fold the softened cream cheese into the cooled turkey mixture until well combined.
  10. Spoon the filling into the baked pastry cups and return to the oven for 5 minutes to warm through.
  11. Garnish each tartlet with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

For best results, use cold puff pastry. You can prepare the turkey filling a day ahead and store it in the refrigerator.
