- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup brewed coffee
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup butter (for frosting)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, melt 1 cup of butter and mix with 2 cups of sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of cocoa powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture until well incorporated.
- Stir in the brewed coffee until smooth.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- While brownies are baking, prepare the frosting by combining 1/4 cup of butter, 1 cup of powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract in a bowl and mixing until smooth.
- Once brownies are baked and cooled, spread the frosting over the brownies.
- Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
For best results, use room temperature brewed coffee and allow brownies to cool completely before frosting.
