These fudgy coffee brownies are a perfect blend of rich cocoa and brewed coffee, topped with a silky powdered sugar frosting.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup brewed coffee
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter (for frosting)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, melt 1 cup of butter and mix with 2 cups of sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of cocoa powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture until well incorporated.
  5. Stir in the brewed coffee until smooth.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. While brownies are baking, prepare the frosting by combining 1/4 cup of butter, 1 cup of powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract in a bowl and mixing until smooth.
  8. Once brownies are baked and cooled, spread the frosting over the brownies.
  9. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature brewed coffee and allow brownies to cool completely before frosting.
