Ingredients
Scale
- 1 wheel of brie (8–12 oz)
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 2 Honeycrisp apples, sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced apples, brown sugar, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook until tender and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
- On a floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry. Place the brie in the center and top with the caramelized apples.
- Gently fold the edges of the pastry over the brie and apples, sealing well to prevent leakage.
- Place the wrapped brie on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and flaky.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving to enhance the creamy texture.
Notes
For a lighter option, use less butter or low-fat brie. You can also serve with crusty bread or crackers.
