Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring they are well combined. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt together. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until fully combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips, distributing them evenly throughout the dough.
- Using a tablespoon, drop portions of the cookie dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them a few inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are firm but the centers remain soft and slightly underbaked. Don’t overbake!
- Allow the cookies to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Make sure your butter is softened but not melted for the best texture. Overmixing can lead to tougher cookies.
