Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the balsamic vinegar, dried thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Add the broth and bring to a simmer, letting it reduce for about 10 minutes.
- Combine the cooked pasta with the caramelized onion mixture.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Transfer the pasta mixture to a baking dish and sprinkle with Gruyère cheese.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
