A silky, creamy white garlic pizza sauce that enhances any pizza or pasta dish with bright garlic flavor and a rich texture.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 2 cups of sauce 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Stir in the all-purpose flour, creating a roux, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  4. Gradually whisk in the whole milk and heavy cream, continuing to stir to prevent lumps.
  5. Increase the heat slightly and continue to whisk until the mixture begins to bubble and thicken.
  6. Add the salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning, stirring well to incorporate all the flavors.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
  8. Allow the sauce to cool slightly before spreading over your favorite pizza crust or using as a base sauce for pasta dishes.

Notes

For best results, use whole milk and cream for a creamy texture. Store in an airtight container for up to three days or freeze in portions for up to three months.
